The Origin of Laser-Engraved .999 Fine Silver

Bedrock marks the beginning.

This inaugural line represents the first time .999 fine silver has been precision laser-engraved within the Finite by Design catalog. Produced as a single, ultra-small batch of five pieces, each coin serves as a foundational artifact — documenting the earliest stage of an engraving process that will continue to evolve on precious metal.

The name is intentional. These coins are not a refinement of prior work; they are the substrate upon which all future laser-engraved silver issues will be built.

Material & Process

Each Bedrock coin starts with a ½ troy ounce .999 fine silver blank, selected for purity and long-term stability. The engraving process is deliberately restrained, prioritizing control, legibility, and permanence over surface saturation.

Ultra-Small Batch Issuance

Only five (5) coins exist in the Bedrock line.

Each piece is individually engraved and permanently accounted for. Once completed, the line was closed without expansion or reissue. These coins represent a fixed moment — not a scalable product.

Cryptographic Functionality

On the reverse, each coin is secured with a custom tamper-evident hologram concealing a one-of-one private key, generated offline in an air-gapped environment.

The hologram incorporates:

• A scannable QR code for the public funding address
• Visual tamper evidence upon removal
• Permanent concealment of the private key unless intentionally accessed

No digital backups are retained. The concealed key is the only copy in existence.
